Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel opened to guests this week. With so many incredible new features to check out, like dining and custom artwork on display, there’s a lot to see at the renovated hotel. Recently we gave you a tour of an Empire State Club Room, and today we bring you on a tour of a Spider-Man Suite. Let’s get started!
One of the first things we note on entry is the room is fully carpeted. We love to see carpet in a hotel, even though the latest trends are for hard flooring.
In the entry, there’s a closet with tons of storage plus an iron and ironing board. The black storage on the bottom shelf holds the extra bedding for the pull-out bed. A small safe is also available here.
To the left is one of the bathrooms. The mirror should be lighted, but ours did not work.
Unlike the Empire State Club Room, the Spider-Man Suite does not have wall-mounted toiletries. The shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel are in bottles here. The shower features both an overhead fixed showerhead and a hand-held attachment.
We love when hotels include art in the bathrooms. It adds more color and life to a typically dull space.
Art above the toilet features Spider-Man/Peter Parker.
The bathroom has a sliding door that cannot be locked.
The temperature control is accompanied by a digital light control panel. You can turn the lights on and off and adjust brightness levels. Another detail we were happy to see is the use of actual wallpaper, which has fallen out of style in the States. It adds dimension and texture to the room.
The beverage station has a LavAzza coffee maker with drink pods. The water bottles are branded to the hotel.
Another closet is available in the living room. It has sliding doors and lights that activate when the doors are opened. Its style is reminiscent of elevator doors, which fits nicely with the theming.
Inside are two sets of bathrobes and slippers, both branded with the logo for Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel.
The slippers are yours to keep, but the bathrobes are not. You can purchase the bathrobes in a variety of sizes in the gift shop.
The living room carpet features a skyline design.
The living room is very stylish, carrying over the hotel’s color palette and sleek designs.
The Spider-Man print was custom-made for the hotel. You can buy prints of the art in the gift shop.
This Spider-Man emblem table is one of the coolest things in the suite. It is also very heavy, and must be moved if you want to use the sofa bed.
The textured curtains feature a Spider-Man style web pattern.
The sofa has a pull-out bed. To open it, you just pull the back cushion forward to extend the bed. The black cushions are attached, so you don’t have to find a place to store them while the bed is in use. (Not that you’d have trouble, as this suite has ample storage space.)
It has a soft mattress. This would be a great place for the kids to sleep, as the bedroom has only one bed.
The entertainment center doubles as a work station.
A panel below the TV reveals outlets. If you’re traveling from abroad, don’t forget a converter! There are also USB ports and an HDMI port for the television.
The mini-fridge is in the cabinet of the entertainment center.
The suites all come with a themed stationary set.
The left side of the entertainment center has more storage.
The bedroom is spacious, with geometric patterned carpeting and curtains. The bed runner and throw pillow continue the subtle motif with the same web pattern as the living room curtains.
This amazing artwork is another custom piece for the hotel. Framed prints were sold for the grand opening at a limited edition of 350.
If the art wasn’t cool enough already, it also lights up.
There’s a small table with two chairs in the bedroom.
Like the Empire State Club Room, the bedroom has a mirror television.
The bedroom has another closet. We weren’t joking about the storage space in this suite!
The door to the ensuite has an opaque pattern on the glass that, while not blatantly Spider-Man themed, carries the geometric web-like motif.
The bathroom is very spacious.
There’s a chair available for applying makeup or bathing the children.
The lighted mirrors and dual-basin vanity are great amenities.
These sinks also feature the Chrysler Building faucets. Several toiletries are available as well.
The Spider-Man Suite offers more complimentary toiletries than the Empire State Club Room, including a vanity kit, shaving set, comb, and dental kit.
In addition to the standard face towels, there is a black microfiber cloth perfect for makeup removal.
Both bathrooms in the suite have an adjustable lighted magnifying mirror.
There’s more storage beside the tub, including a towel shelf.
The large tub also has a hand-held showerhead for your convenience.
The luxuriously-sized tub also has massage jets.
The Empire State Club rooms are expensive, but the Spider-Man Suite is only a couple hundred more and includes the same benefits. We highly recommend splurging for it. This room has so many details and features perfect for a superhero fan. It’s one of the coolest hotel rooms we’ve seen.
