DANVILLE, Va. – It is been a hectic couple of months for the Danville-primarily based nonprofit God’s Pit Crew.

This week, crews traveled to Pembroke, Georgia to help cleanse up soon after a devastating tornado rocked the community.

“We are encouraging householders who shed everything. Most of the households that were being hit by the tornado are entirely wrecked,” mentioned Rapid Catastrophe Response coordinator, Chris Chiles.

Chiles suggests most houses down there are unsalvageable.

“The only thing still left standing was the risk-free space, the entrance wall and the back wall. Everything else was absent,” he advised 10 Information when describing the scene.

March marked a history-location month for the number of tornadoes documented in the US, in accordance to the Storm Prediction Centre.

“We are busy, but the Lord has been excellent to us,” reported Chiles.

“The ministry is escalating. We are incorporating volunteers each and every working day. When I was at the workplace, we added 25 new registered volunteers in one day. People today are starting up to get on board. I really do not feel like we are stretched slender, we are just increasing to have far more capability to react,” stated Chiles.
